Traitia ("we," "us") publishes the free assessment at traitia.app and the Traitia app for Android. This policy explains what we collect when you use either one, which — by design — is very little. The app has its own section below. See our methodology page for how the assessment itself works.
Your quiz answers
Your 50 quiz responses are processed entirely in your browser. They are never sent to, or stored on, any server we operate. If you close the tab, they are gone. We have no way to recover, view, or reconstruct your answers, because we never receive them in the first place. That is a property of how the site is built rather than a policy: the scoring runs on your device, and there is no request carrying your answers at all.
The factor scores it produces stay in your browser too, in session storage, so a type page can show your own numbers instead of a generic illustration. They are cleared when you close the tab. There is exactly one case where they leave your device, and only because you asked for it — see the next section.
If you ask us to email you your result
A result page offers to email you a copy. That form is optional, and the page works the same if you skip it. If you do use it, your email address and your result — your four-letter type and your factor scores — are sent to our server and passed straight on to Resend, the provider that delivers the message. We keep no copy: no database, no mailing list, no record of who asked. Resend processes it on our behalf in order to send that email, and retains it under their own policy.
That form is also protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, a “prove you're not a bot” check that runs before the email is sent. It only loads once you start filling in that form, sees your IP address and some technical details about your browser (not your email address or your result), and may store a small amount of data of its own to do that check. This exists because the form is open to anyone with no sign-in, so without it there would be nothing stopping it being used to blast email at scale.
The link in that email carries your four scores after the # in its address, so opening it later, or on another device, still shows your own breakdown rather than a generic one. That part of a link is read by your browser and never sent to any server — not ours, not Cloudflare's, and not Google Analytics. Anyone holding the link can still see those numbers, so treat it as private: it is meant for your inbox, not for passing on. The share buttons on a result page use the plain page address, with no scores in it.
Joining the waitlist
A result page and the app page also offer an optional waitlist, so we can tell you when the Traitia app launches. If you submit your address there, it is sent to and stored by Web3Forms, our form processor, along with the page you submitted from, for the sole purpose of sending you that one notice. We don't use it for anything else, we delete the list once that notice has gone out, and we don't sell or share it with anyone beyond Web3Forms acting on our behalf.
Those two forms are the only places on this site that ask for an email address, and you can ask us to delete anything you sent to either one at any time (see Contact, below).
Analytics
We use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand which pages are useful, at an aggregate level — page views and a small number of funnel events (e.g., that a quiz was started or completed, and which type code resulted). Your answers are never among them. We don't use it for cross-site tracking or ad targeting.
Google Analytics only runs if you explicitly accept it, via the consent banner shown on your first visit. Until you accept, no Google script loads and no Google cookie is set. We ask again after 12 months. You can review or change that choice at any time below; turning analytics off also deletes the Google Analytics cookies from your browser.
Separately, our host Cloudflare runs its own Web Analytics on every page, and that one is not covered by the banner above. It is cookieless: it stores nothing on your device, doesn't fingerprint you, and doesn't follow you between sites. It reports aggregate page-load and performance figures with no profile of any individual visitor. We spell it out because “analytics only run with your consent” would otherwise be an overstatement, and we would rather be exact than flattering.
Cookies and browser storage
Google Analytics sets its own cookies (_ga and _ga_…), and only after you accept analytics consent. Cloudflare Turnstile may store a small amount of data of its own, but only once you start using the “email me my result” form, and only to check you're not a bot — it isn't gated by the consent banner, since it isn't analytics or tracking. We set no advertising cookies at all.
We use three small pieces of browser storage of our own. All stay on your device and are never transmitted anywhere:
- local storage remembers your analytics choice and when you made it;
- session storage keeps your in-progress answers, so a reload mid-test doesn't lose your place — cleared when you finish the test or close the tab;
- session storage holds your most recent result until you close the tab.
Clearing your site data removes all three.
The Traitia Android app
Everything above is about this website. The Traitia app for Android works differently, because coaching needs an AI model that doesn't run on your phone. This section covers what the app keeps, what it sends, and who receives it. The app has no account and never asks for your name, email address, or phone number.
What stays on your phone
The app scores the assessment on your phone, just as the website does in your browser. Your answers, your profile, and your coaching history are stored only on your device, in an encrypted database whose key is protected by Android's secure key storage. We never receive them. The app also keeps a few simple usage counters on your phone, and never sends them anywhere.
What's sent to the AI model, and only after you agree
Nothing is sent until you agree. The first time the app needs the AI model, to write the introduction to your result or to answer a coaching request, it shows what will be sent and asks you to agree. If you choose “Not now,” nothing is sent: the assessment still finishes on your phone, and you can ask for the introduction later. You can withdraw your agreement at any time under Settings → Your data, and the app will ask again before sending anything.
The introduction to your result sends your four-letter type and your trait scores. Each coaching request sends those too, along with the text you just wrote and, so the coach can see patterns, up to ten of the recent situations you brought to it, exactly as you wrote them, with the tag, the suggested step, and any rating or feedback you gave each one. They go to our server, which passes them straight on to OpenAI, the provider of the AI model that writes the response. Our server runs on Cloudflare and does not keep a copy of what you wrote or what came back. Under OpenAI's API terms, it does not use this data to train its models, but it may retain it for up to 30 days to monitor for abuse before deleting it.
What you write is free text, so it can contain anything you choose to type. We suggest leaving out details you wouldn't want to share, like full names or anything that identifies other people.
Reporting a response
Every coaching response has a “Report this response” option, for anything offensive, harmful or otherwise wrong. A report sends that response, the reason you pick and the app version to our server — not to OpenAI, and never what you wrote. We keep reports for up to 180 days to review them and improve the coaching, stored without your install identifier.
Keeping the coaching service from being abused
Because the app has no sign-in, our server needs other ways to tell a real copy of the app from someone scripting requests against it:
- Google Play Integrity. With each request, the app asks Google to confirm it is a genuine, unmodified copy of Traitia running on a trustworthy device. Our server checks Google's answer. This is covered by Google's privacy policy.
- An install identifier. The app sends a one-way scrambled (hashed) version of your device's Android ID for this app. It can't be reversed into the original ID. We use it only to count your free coaching requests, and we store nothing next to it except that count. Because the free requests are per install for its lifetime, the count has no fixed expiry; email us and we'll delete it.
- Your IP address. Like any web server, ours sees the IP address each request comes from. It keeps a per-hour request count for each address to slow down abuse, and deletes that count within two hours.
Subscriptions and payments
Subscriptions are sold and billed through Google Play. We never see your card or payment details. When a subscriber asks for coaching, the app sends Google's purchase token for that subscription, and our server checks it with Google to confirm it is active. We store only a scrambled (hashed) form of that token alongside that day's request count, and delete it within two days.
What the app doesn't do
The app contains no advertising, no third-party analytics or tracking, and no data broker integrations, and we don't sell or share your data with anyone.
Deleting your app data
You can delete any single coaching exchange from your History. To remove everything, use Settings → Your data → Delete all my data in the app, clear the app's storage in your phone's Settings (Apps → Traitia → Storage), or uninstall the app. Because your profile and history exist only on your phone, that deletes them completely. We have no copy to delete.
Why we're allowed to process it
If you're in the EU, the UK or another place with similar law, our legal bases are:
- Your consent for Google Analytics, and for sending your coaching requests to OpenAI. You can withdraw either at any time (on this page, and in the app's Settings).
- Providing what you asked for for emailing your result, the waitlist notice, coaching and subscriptions.
- Our legitimate interest in keeping the service secure and free of abuse for Turnstile, Play Integrity, the install identifier's request count, the hourly IP counter, Cloudflare's cookieless page analytics, and reports you send us.
Where it's processed
Our providers — Cloudflare, OpenAI, Google, Resend and Web3Forms — may process data in the United States and other countries. Where that data comes from the EU or UK, they transfer it under the safeguards the law provides, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
How long we keep it
- Quiz answers and results on the website: never stored by us.
- Result emails: not kept by us; Resend keeps delivery records under its own policy.
- Waitlist addresses: until the one notice is sent, then deleted.
- App coaching requests: not kept by our server; up to 30 days at OpenAI.
- Reported responses: up to 180 days.
- Hourly IP counters: deleted within 2 hours.
- Hashed purchase tokens: deleted within 2 days.
- The install identifier's free-request count: no fixed expiry (see above); deleted on request.
Your rights
Wherever you're located — including under GDPR (EU/UK) or CCPA (California) — you can ask us what data we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it, or to stop processing it. From the website, realistically that is an email address, if you submitted one, held by Resend or Web3Forms rather than by us. From the app, it is a request count stored against an identifier we can't connect to you by name. We hold no account, no profile, and none of your answers. Contact us using the address below and we'll respond within a month. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Children's privacy
Neither this site nor the app is directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13 (or the relevant minimum age in your jurisdiction). The Traitia app is intended only for adults aged 18 and over.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes materially, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
